Chris Fisher has retired after 32 years covering Westminster for the Eastern Daily Pres. In total, he has spent 44 years with its parent company Archant, formerly Eastern Counties Newspapers when he first joined in the 60s. His replacement, Joe Watts, arrives from Northcliffe Media’s lobby team. (Source: HTFP)

Archant has expanded the position of two editors-in-chief to oversee the majority of its London titles. Geoff Martin, editor of the Hampstead and Highgate Express, is now additionally in charge of all weekly titles published out of the company’s offices in Swiss Cottage, Camden. Malcolm Starbrook, editor of the East London Advertiser, also becomes editor-in-chief of all titles published out of Ilford. (Source: HTFP)
Bryan Kirkwood, the EastEnder’s executive who oversaw the controversial cot death baby swap plot, has stepped down. Series producer Lorraine Newman will take over on an acting basis until a permanent replacement is appointed. (Source: MediaGuardian)
