Jerry Yang has resigned from his role on Yahoo’s company board, after 16 years of service. One of the co-founders of the service, Yang’s last few years as chief executive were mired with less-than-sensible decision making, including turning down a near-£30bn takeover offer from Microsoft in 2008.
Richard Deverell is leaving his role as a BBC executive to join Ofcom. Deverell, who spent 20 years at the Corporation, will join Ofcom’s strategy and economic department as a director.
The BBC has hired its first science editor, in the form of David Shukman. The newly-created role is a result of an independent review into the Corporation’s science coverage. Shukman has been a long-serving correspondent for the BBC. (Source: The Guardian)

ITV has given specialist editor roles to two of its journalists. James Mates will take on the role of ITV News Europe editor, and Penny Marshall will become social affairs editor.
